When a wingnut finally ventures out of his own shell and goes into the real world, it's like he's re-entering the earth's atmosphere without his heat shields. Sean Hannity got hit in the face with a big wet bag of reality tonight.
It wasn't one of his sycophantic radio remotes stacked with his fawning listeners. It wasn't taking one phone call after another from fans lining up to tell him how great he is.
It was the audience of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."
Hannity and Colmes were tonight's guests. Colmes (I kept the font size larger here because he earned it for this) said he'd be voting for a Democrat in 2004 simply because they weren't Bush. This drew a nice loud cheer from the crowd, as Hannity looked at them with utter disbelief. Hannity then - with all the proud bluster he could serve up - said he's proud to have a president who's not afraid to stand up to evil and who's chasing it down and defeating it. This got about four people clapping and a couple of boo's (I'm being very generous here), leaving Hannity shrugging his shoulders looking almost apologetic and definitely confused.
I invite everyone, right and left, to watch the replay Thursday morning at 10am ET, 7am PT - and call me any name in the book if I'm lyin'.
Of course Jon Stewart will be vilified tomorrow for being a leftist who attracts a leftist audience and he should be boycotted. Guar-an-teed.
