Anchorman is just plain silly, mindless and just about as funny as I expected it would be. There are only about three or four really laugh-out loud moments (one being the title of this post - it's so over-the-top, it's classic), but the rest is real fun. Among the cameos are Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Tim Robbins, and the guy who just can't say no, Ben Stiller - all as competing anchormen. Jack Black is also thrown in for good measure.
If you saw the trailer, you'll be kinda surprised to see that hardly anything in it is in the finished film. You'll like what's in there, though - including a nice oh, ribbing of the preznit toward the end. We all need something that doesn't require lots of brainpower, so go and enjoy it this weekend.
On the famous Hoffmania! film scale of 1 to 46, we give it about a 37.4 - but remember that Aqua Teen Hunger Force amuses the hell out of us too.
